Tencent is adding to its already large roster of video game studios by acquiring Slamfire, the parent company of Back 4 Blood developer Turtle Rock Studios. Turtle Rock will be “retaining its independent operations” in California and the current leadership team will still run the studio, according to a press release. The studio, which has also developed Evolve and Left 4 Dead, was acquired alongside its parent company Slamfire Inc. The cost of the acquisition was not disclosed. Tencent says the team will retain its independent operations under the leadership of studio co-founders Phil Robb and Chris Ashton. Tencent have a reputation for buying studios and then leaving them to operate relatively independently. Earlier this year Imogen ran down the list of studios in which Tencent own a share, and the list is long. While it’s unclear exactly what’s next for Turtle Rock, the studio is emphasizing its commitment to Back 4 Blood (which got a big update just this week). With Tencent’s acquisition, “we get to do something we have never done before as a studio: turn a universe we created into a true long-standing AAA franchise,” Turtle Rock said in a blog post. “We can now ensure that the Back 4 Blood franchise is here to stay and we will be working on it well into the future.” Back 4 Blood already has a content roadmap stretching across 2022, including free new co-op mode and difficulty level, and three paid expansions covered by a £35 annual pass. B4B Supply Points are hard and time consuming to obtain, take all of the difficult work out of grinding Supply Points and use our Back 4 Blood Boosting services to get it done fast. The service is now available on Xbox Series X and Series S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and PC platforms! What's more, you can also get B4B Copper farming service here at https://www.z2u.com/back-4-blood/boosting-service-4-16455!
